Spice up your meal with our mouthwatering Nashville hot chicken recipe, featuring crispy, tender chicken coated in a fiery blend of spices for an unforgettable flavor.
**Ingredients:
**4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 cup buttermilk
1 large egg
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for heat)
1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
4 brioche buns
Pickles
Sauce:
4 tbsp mayonnaise
2 tbsp hot sauce
1 tbsp honey
**
Directions:**
1. In a bowl, mix buttermilk and egg. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator (overnight for best results).
2. In another bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Coat the Chicken: Remove chicken from the buttermilk mixture, letting excess drip off. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture, pressing firmly to ensure it's well-coated.
3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
4. Make the Hot Sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, hot sauce, and honey.
5. Toast the brioche buns. Spread the hot sauce mixture on the bottom bun, place the fried chicken on top, and add butter pickles. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.
